Meghan Flaherty is the author of an acclaimed memoir, Tango Lessons published in 2018.
Her essays have appeared in VQR, The Iowa Review, Psychology Today, New York Times, The Paris Review and Slate, amongst other publications. Her essay ‘Ode to Gray’ was included among the notable mentions in 2019’s Best American Essays; and her essay ‘Taps’ was shortlisted for the 2025 Anne Brown Essay Prize.
Meghan is a Lecturer in Creative Writing at the University of Glasgow.
In 2022, she was awarded an Ignite Fellowship by the Scottish Book Trust.
A new memoir, The Family Myth will be published early in 2028.
